Frequently Asked Questions

Everything Nigerians in the U.S. want to know about shopping, shipping, payments and delivery.

Shopping & Orders

How long does delivery from Nigeria to the U.S. take?
Delivery usually takes 3–7 business days depending on your U.S. city, carrier availability, and customs clearance speed. The ETA is shown clearly at checkout.
Are duties and customs fees included?
Yes — all duties, taxes and service fees are calculated upfront. You’ll see the final price before paying.
Can I track my order?
Absolutely. Every order gets a tracking link you can follow from Lagos hub → customs → last-mile U.S. carrier.
What if an item is out of stock?
Out-of-stock products are marked instantly. You can join a waitlist or choose an alternative recommended by top Nigerian vendors.

Payments

Can I pay in naira?
For U.S. orders, payment happens in USD using cards, Apple Pay, Google Pay and major digital wallets. Vendors receive payouts in naira or USD depending on their setup.
Are my payment details secure?
Yes — we use encrypted PCI-DSS-compliant processors, the same level used by major U.S. e-commerce companies.
Why is my bank declining the payment?
Some banks block cross-border or marketplace transactions by default. Simply enable international transactions or call your bank.

Shipping & Delivery

What items cannot be shipped?
Restricted items include certain meat products, liquids over certain limits, dangerous goods and anything prohibited by U.S. import laws.
Who handles customs and inspection?
Jumia USA works with licensed clearing partners and oversees documentation, duties, and compliance — so you don’t deal with customs directly.
What if my order is damaged or missing?
We refund or replace items quickly. Jumia USA is your first line of support, not the vendor or shipper.
